Peggy Morrell/Peggy Jones posted a condolence

Sending our deepest sympathy. I, personally will never forget how thoughtful Mary was, with our Mom, Peggy Jones, checking in on her, on a regular basis, at Mullen Manor, before her moving from there to Orchard Park. Our Mom will never forget her kindness, and all that she contributed to the activities there, as will all of us who knew her. God bless from Peggy Morrell, and Peggy Jones

Sue Hippert Lord posted a condolence

Viola Hippert was Mary's next door neighbor when her children were young. She remembers Mary trying to teach her how to knit, and after several attempts to fix all the holes on the article, she told Vi that she doesn't get it. They both had a good laugh. Vi was talented in many business and financial matters, but she was not "crafty".
Vi and Mary were as close a mother and daughter for many years when Mary worked at florist arranging and Vi enjoyed many gifts of flowers from Mary.
Maura would visit regularly at Vi's house for homemade sugar cookies and Vi called Maura her "little cookie monster"!
Jimmy would come over and hang out with Vi's late husband "Joe" and they were treated like the grand children.
Mary was a very special, kind, and generous friend/neighbor to Vi and she is happy for the memories.
So sorry for your loss, Jimmy and Maura: Sue Hippert Lord.

Dear Maura and Jimmy,
I can remember meeting your Mom for the first time. Mary had just started to date Jimmer and there were a few occasions when a group of us went out together. Jimmer had the car because he had a job and the rest of us were lucky to have a couple of bucks for the bartender. Brian was with us, and we went off to sample a few of the South Buffalo watering holes. I remember your Mom being a very friendly person to meet. She also had a big smile on her face and we had a lot of fun making the rounds together!
I remember her doing the flower arraigning for several of the area florists. I also remember Mary's involvement in the Tara Shop and her love of the Irish Center and all things Irish.
Mary was always a joy to be around and luckily over the years I did have numerous opportunities to spend some time with her. Her top interest of course was her children. She was very proud of you and loved to relate stories of your accomplishments. She deeply loved her parents, Jean & Howie Cox and her siblings, and seemed to fit perfectly into our family. At our family gatherings Mary always brought a smile and provided a laugh to be enjoyed by all. She will be missed, and I know that I am better off for knowing your Mom!
Love, Michael
