As I mentioned to Don Paul, my earliest memory of your Mom was a cold winter day in February of 1972. Butch and I were sorting our Kindergarten Valentines on your dining room floor and your Mom scooted us over into the front door entry to remove us from the circulation path, nay highway, that ran from kitchen to den with crossroads at the bottom of the stairs. Brownes were bustling every which way! I loved that vestibule, I had never seen such an extravagance, and always thought about Don and I and your mother, and our little Valentine cards, as I walked the crossroads for years after. It is a memory I will always cherish, firm and fond.

I was sorry to read this. Mr. and Mrs. Browne were spectacular people. I’ve knew them both well from a young age at Eckl’s. They will be missed (and prayed for) at Nativity 4:30 mass. May they forever Rest In Peace.

What a great legacy your Mom left. Our parents were longtime friends and always had a good time together. I have memories of a very patient and fostering Latin, as well as religious ed teacher. Joe, Ray, et al., please accept my most sincere condolences on the passing of your mother. Indeed, I have fond memories of her from hanging at your home in Sunset, playing basketball in the driveway, football in the field next door, and seeing her at Nativity School as well. She was a patient, tolerant, intelligent presence. Further, I remember her as a great friend and long time tennis partner to my mom. I know she was much loved and will be greatly missed.
