A short statement here does not tell the whole story of the friendship that I developed with Jim, beginning in 1996. In a parking lot of a hotel. In Valdosta, Georgia. At about midnight. We worked some long hours together, and spent several hours enjoying the "off-work" times. We had a running feud /joke about the Bills and the Cowboys....that did involve small wagers. Took in some amazing times at minor league baseball stadiums, a major league stadium (I believe), some Plant Manager meetings and more. The list goes on. And just a couple of months ago, we had a great conversation about the past and the present. I only wish it had been for an even longer time, as I look back. And some great family stories. That mutual love for the youth sports scene made for lively "replays" and lots of chuckles. And I'm sure, many smiles on both ends of the conversation. The one laugh we always shared involved the "sound effects" that the minor league ballpark's give you on foul balls, strike outs, pitching changes and between innings. We could not stop laughing at that crappy ballpark in Allentown PA with the chainsaw sound effect. As I've been known to misquote on purpose, Missing me some Jim Bush. If I can get that sound effect connected to a solar panel, it will be installed in perpetuity. Gonna need some help with the midnight hijinks.
