Prof. Dempsey helped me with my senior research project in 1975 when my original project fell through. We used an environmental
research grant from the state/county to determine the gas mileage difference in rush hour versus ordinary traffic on the “Kensington
Expressway””. The delta was 18%, if I remember correctly. His willingness to literally go the extra mile helped me graduate on time.
The test vehicle was the Dempsey family station wagon. Psalms 116:15.
