Dave & family... He was a special man. I had the pleasure of meeting him years ago in Hamburg, but got to really know him years later as a member of the Springville family. He was smart, caring and always made you feel comfortable. I can see he was a role model for many, especially his family. Most of all he was a good citizen. My sincere deepest condolences.. He will always be remembered! Mike Kaney

I could never find all the words I would need to properly express how much my grandfather meant to me. He was one of the best and kindest men I have ever or will ever know and I would always marvel at how easily he could talk to people and the genuine interest he had in everyone he talked to.
I’ll be forever grateful for the countless hours that I got to spend with him, particularly in his home, celebrating birthdays, Christmases, and all other occasions, and I will always miss talking to him about whatever was going on, especially sports, and doing things like going for hot dogs at Red Top after I finished mowing his lawn or doing yard work at his house. I will never be able to own another dog without thinking of how much he’d like to meet them and I’ll never be able to see a dog show on TV without thinking of him and my grandmother.
I aspire to be half the man that he was and I know that, if I manage, it will be because of his example. I miss him so much already and always will but I take comfort in knowing the goodness and peace that he imparted on all those around him and in knowing that will live on forever. It’s too hard to say goodbye, Bobbie, so I’ll just wave to you in your front window as I’m pulling down the driveway one more time, until we get to talk again.

Bobbie (Dave) was my husband’s grandfather and he quickly became my grandfather, too. I have so much to say about Bobbie and no idea how to do it. He was the sweetest man who was genuinely interested in people. No holiday or birthday or occasion will ever be the same without him. If the world had more people like Bobbie in it, it would be a better place. I don’t feel I could ever adequately express how I felt about him, not only because of what he meant to me personally, but also because of what he meant to the people that I care about, so I’ll just say that I loved him very much and I will miss him.

Uncle Dave’s kind compassion for others seemed infinite. True to form, even on his last days, he was more concerned for his caregivers than for himself. His home was a place of kindness. I will remember the time we spent together during holidays and our virtual “coffee chats” with much love. A visit with Uncle Dave was like coming home. And he always had donuts.
Much of his spirit lives on through his children, and his children’s children. You are his shining accomplishments in life. The goodness you portray was modeled by your parents and grandparents. The moral decency you live by is part of their handiwork. The work ethic and desire to make the world a better place than you found it, had to come from somewhere.
Uncle Dave inspired me in a way that we will never, never forget. His spirit and his kindness will live on forever in the hearts of his family. We know he lives on in ours. May we all find comfort in his memory, and in knowing that he now owns the hope of hopes.
Welcome home, Uncle Dave. Job well done.
love, Bob and Fran
