Eileen- So sorry about Gary's passing. I have nothing but great memories of Gary. Night school, Shane's Log Cabin, hard cider and Gary playing drums in his band. My heart is absolutely broken to learn of the passing of one of the dearest men I have ever met. I had the honor of doing volunteer work with Gary and Eileen for 12 years of LakeFest for MercyFlight in Burt, NY.
Gary would call me often and was always a ray of sunshine - he appreciated everything and came up with such clever ideas. He was simply fun.
My relationship with the Kelchlins has been that of love and friendship. Gary was a trouper, a fighter, and a winner - a true hero in the eyes of many. God obviously needed an assistant. While we grieve and listen still for Gary's voice, in our hearts we know that he is at rest and at peace onto his next mission.
Eileen - I'm so sorry for your loss. If it helps even a little, please know that your grief is shared and that you will never be alone. If there is anything I can do, or if you just need to talk.
Gary - You will be sadly missed and never forgotten until we meet again.... and I know that we will.

I saw the obituaries today and recognized the name, but had a hard time placing it. Gary was one of the first people to buy my Artwork at the Waterfront Art Show In the 70’s...he bought 3 pieces and was so kind to me. He even invited me to his “house warming” party...and made me feel special that day. Retired now after a 30 year career teaching Art and continuing to create Art, this is just a reminder for me about the people that you cross in your life... probably insignificant to him and just a reflection of his character at the time, but 40+ years later I remembered the few days that I knew him. My prayers go out to everyone who grieves for him today and I hope that this story will put a smile on your face during this time. When I did place him, I smiled, because I’m glad our paths crossed long ago....Chris

Just talked to Gary on your front lawn last month. He had that beautiful old Packard outside. I stopped in your driveway and we talked for awhile. That car is one of a kind and so was Gary.
