Just heard of George's passing. Have great memories of George with our family in the seventies and eighties, His helping my parents plumb the new addition in the early seventies (Bud and Judy both deceased) and at my parent annual New Years parties. I used to visit him occasionally in the early eighties at the firehouse on Leroy. Have had email with him in the earlier 2000's regarding fire service as he maintained contact with Kenmore Fire Dept....my Grandfather Roy Gannon was fire chief there early in WWII. Talked to him a few times in the 2000's as I was carrying on the fire tradition 2002-2012 with Platte Canyon Fire (Bailey CO) We last visited WNY in 2009 and paid George and Annie a visit then, so glad I did. My oldest son went on to join Platte Canyon in 2011 and eventually hired on to Colorado Springs Fire Dept. He used to tiller Ladder 7 on the bad east side, lots of stories of what went on in the late sixties in the inner city. Rest in Peace George....you were one hell of a man !
