JACKSON, Joanne (Putnam)
Of Buffalo, NY, passed away on January 5, 2025.
Beloved wife of 54 years to the late Charles F. Jackson, Jr.; dear mother of Ronald Jackson, Jennifer (Michael) McLaughlin, Kathleen (Brian) Heller, Loretta (Andy) Hayslip, and Maureen (Jason) Klepp. Loving grandmother of Joseph, Catherine, Nolan, Bethany, David, Matthew, Conner (Kaitlin), Hunter, Trever, Gabrielle, Kristan, Ashley, and Erin; and cherished great-grandmother of Charles and Carsen.
Daughter of the late Carl and Gladys (Nolan) Putnam, Joanne is survived by her siblings Thomas (Genevieve) Putnam, William (Jean) Putnam, and Deb (John) McDonnell. She will be missed by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Joanne was a true South Buffalo Irish girl at heart. In her youth, she was active in her CYO, enjoyed going to car races with her best friends “the Barbs,” exploring beauty and fashion products, and dancing. Joanne loved cooking, singing, spending time at the lake, and being outdoors.
She was a dedicated employee of ECMC and Mercy Hospitals. When not working or raising her children, Joanne volunteered as an instructor with the American Red Cross and co-led several groups with the Camp Fire Council of Buffalo and Erie County, Inc. She cherished time outdoors, whether camping or enjoying a simple picnic among the trees with her family.
Throughout her life, Joanne found comfort and purpose in her faith. She served as a Eucharistic Minister and choir member in the parishes she attended. A devoted servant to others, Joanne was an active member of the Rosary Altar Society and the Madonna Circle.
