My Papa was an incredibly stoic man with a child-like nature at the drop of a hat. He was the best storyteller. The best secret keeper. A legend among many. He loved my Grams with his whole being. He took me in when I needed him the most. I’ll miss him terribly.

Favorite memory is when I was changing the channel on him when I was 4, and he didn't know why it was changing and nearly broke the television. Going to miss Papa forever, always had something to say even if he shouldn't say it and had the best one liners. He was a great husband, dad, and most of all Papa. Won't be the same without ya, don't forget to mix Guinness and vodka up there Pops.

I’m so lucky to have so many wonderful memories with my grandpa. There truly was no one else like him. Since I was little we had a tradition where I would call him during every Notre Dame game to bust his chops. I know we both looked forward to those weekly phone calls. I will miss him more than words. Drink a Guinness in his honor! Love you Papa.

My Papa was a one of a kind man, he was stubborn, sarcastic, and always there for you. Having him in my life through every graduation, milestone, and soccer game (even when he harassed the refs) will be memories I cherish forever. He will be missed greatly.

I met Jeremiah in 1985, the year before Brian and I married. I was immediately taken by Jeremiah's warmth and sense of humor. Over the next few years I noticed how much he enjoyed people, and how kind and friendly he was towards others; I grew to love him quickly. A few years later my mother died, and Jeremiah and Mary Ann flew to Florida for the services. Following my mom's "Celebration of Life" at our home, I couldn’t find my brother’s much-needed medication. I thought I must have accidentally thrown it away so Jeremiah went through every bag of garbage from the party looking for it—and was happy to do so. It was then that I really saw his character. Jeremiah was a good man and I will always hold him in my heart, as will most who knew him. He will be sorely missed.

Dear Aunt Mary Ann, Brian, Mary Pat, Robbie, Danny and Pammy - Joe and I love you all. Uncle Jerry was so kind to Joe and I - always welcoming us with a firm handshake and open arms for tight hugs. I loved how your mother and father attended so many of Martha’s softball games - your father would comment on how the ref made bad calls and/or how terrible the coach was. Uncle Jerry made me smile and laugh. How lucky I have been - how we all were to have known Uncle Jerry. I will forever be known as “Chooch” in your father’s eyes. I will hold onto all my memories of your husband / your father forever and remember this incredible man with love. God Bless. We love you all. Sue and Joe Balthasar

Jeremiah was just a great guy. A coppers cop. He always embraced me and told me he liked me because there was finally someone shorter than him on the job. Then we would laugh and get a couple of Irish Mist’s. The world has lost a great one!

In memory of Jeremiah, an esteemed former comrade at the Buffalo Police Department whose spirited demeanor and friendliness lifted our spirits. His flashes of wit and intellect were truly unmatched, bringing a unique charm to everyday work life. Recalling his adventurous tales and contagious laughter can only be met with sadness for his loss. We mourn deeply, yet celebrate the remarkable legacy left behind by this exceptional individual. May he find peace in his final rest.
