She was always very proud that she paid her own tuition by working at Kresge’s at the Abbott Road Plaza while attending school. She began her teaching career teaching 2nd grade at Big Tree Elementary School, and she found her passion teaching kindergarten at Blasdell Elementary where she made the foundation for so many students. Elma had a love for all children but held a special place for her nieces and nephews. She adored her great nieces and nephews and loved all of their visits to her home she never missed a birthday party or special event in their lives. She loved that they looked so forward to visiting “Aunt Elmo”. she’s likely teaching in heaven and giving hugs to all of them!
