Obituary of Doris Sullivan
Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris was born to William and Irene (Wilson) Murphy on June 16, 1926. They lived on Columbus Ave until she was 6 years old and moved to Whitfield, where she spent about 85 years of her life in 3 different houses. She went to Holy Family School and South Park High School.
She met the love of her life, Francis (Snook) when she was 16. He was from a big family, filled with fun and activity. She knew then that she wanted a big family and a home with lots of chaos. And she sure got one !
She was a stay at home mom. Always busy cooking, baking, driving her kids around.
She was active in Mothers Club at Holy Family, Mt Mercy and Timon.
At the age of 46 she answered an ad in the newspaper and became the TV hostess at Mercy Hospital. She worked there until she was 70 years old!
She had a beautiful garden, when she finally had time to work on it. Many of her flowers came from her father and her relatives in Lockport. She cherished them until the day she died.
Doris will be remembered for loving and caring for her family. She had 7 children,19 grandchildren, and 22 great grandchildren
She was proud of her Irish roots, and being a granddaughter of a Civil Was veteran.
She had strong faith, a wonderful sense of humor, and the kindest heart in the world.
